Advanced Masterclass, 10am-4.30pm
St Marylebone School Theatre
Join the audience for our Advanced Masterclass and watch conductors to work with leading British youth ensemble, The Rodolfus Choir, overseen by four distinguished choral directors who will guide participants through a variety of interesting repertoire.
Suitable for conducting students, music graduates and those working in the field of choral leadership, this masterclass is a unique opportunity to meet other conductors and to learn from an experienced team of choral practitioners;

LICCC Competition (Round 3), 3.45-5.45pm
Duke's Hall
In this round of the competition, focused on set works by UK women composers, watch as 15 highly talented choral conductors from around the world battle it out for just 5 places in the final round. The international jury comprises experts from Italy/Slovenia, Sweden, USA and the UK who will adjudicate the competitors as they conduct several award-winning British chamber choirs, including; Chantage, Commotio, Coro and Epiphoni Consort.
Gala Concert, 6-8pm
Duke's Hall
Take a break from the heat of competition and join us for a celebration of choral singing of the highest calibre in our Gala Concert, when all the choirs who serve the competitors at LICCC will showcase music of their own choosing. Commotio will demonstrate their customary commitment to contemporary choral music, Epiphoni Consort will perform music spanning the centuries, Coro will dwell upon the challenges of setting great literature to music and Chantage will bring a flavour of their recent 25th anniversary celebration. Revel in the Georgian splendour of the Duke’s Hall, Royal Academy Of Music, and hear works including:

Young Conductors Day
Forsythe Room
A Young Conductor Training Day is being organised by the ABCD (Association of British Choral Directors), for which observer tickets are available. Participants will have the opportunity to work with selected guest singers during the day. This event is particularly suitable for students studying music in any discipline, and those who are interested in developing their choral leadership skills further, and all participants will receive a complimentary ticket to the LICCC 2024 Competition Grand Final.

LICCC Competition (Round 4), 2.45-3.45pm
Duke's Hall
This adjudicated session focuses on a rehearsal of the Commissioned Set Work. The five remaining competitors will each have ten minutes to rehearse the new piece, especially written for our 2024 competition, with the combined forces of Chantage, Commotio, Coro and Epiphoni Consort (“Massed Choirs”). This is the best chance of the weekend to see each competitor in close comparison. The winner of the Grand Final will have the honour of giving the premiere performance of the piece at the end of the competition.

'The Grand Final of LICCC 2024 is when the 5 finalists, representing the very finest choral conductors of the next generation from around the world, will compete for a First Prize of £5,000 and Second Prize of £1,000
The competitors will select by drawing lots to conduct two pieces of music; one piece by a UK woman composer, the other taken from a list of set pieces by international composers:

Anna Lapwood - O Nata Lux
Eric Whitacre - With a Lily in Your Hand
Annabel Rooney - Keep me as the apple of the eye
Alison Willis - Gold and spices

Tarik O’Regan - Gratias tibi
Kerensa Briggs - Media Vitae
Kristopher Fulton - Prometheus
Once the performances are complete there will be an interval whilst the judges' marks are analysed and deliberated, during which the Massed Choirs will provide entertainment, conducted by a surprise guest conductor, as the evening climaxes with the announcement of the winners, and closes with the world premiere performance of the Commissioned Set Piece (to be announced on 1st October 2024)
